Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
• Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital.
• Transfer to the hotel and rest.
• Visit Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa for blessings.
• Briefing about the Kailash Yatra.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Trip Preparation
• Morning Puja (prayers) at Pashupatinath Temple.
• Visit Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Jal Narayan Temple (Budhanilkantha).
• Final equipment check and packing.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m) – 7 to 8 hours drive
• Scenic drive through Langtang National Park.
• Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 4: Syabrubesi to Kerung (Kyirong) (2,700m) – 3 hours drive
• Cross the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwa.
• Complete immigration formalities.
• Drive to Kerung and acclimatize.
Day 5: Rest & Acclimatization in Kerung
• Light walking and rest to adjust to high altitude.
• Enjoy the stunning Tibetan landscapes.
Day 6: Kerung to Saga (4,500m) – 5 to 6 hours drive
• Drive through Tibetan plains and mountain passes.
• Reach Saga, the gateway to Kailash-Manasarovar.
Day 7: Saga to Lake Manasarovar (4,590m) – 6 to 7 hours drive
• Scenic drive through Paryang and Mayum La Pass.
• First darshan (view) of Mount Kailash from Manasarovar.
• Holy dip in Lake Manasarovar and prayers.
• Overnight in a guesthouse near the lake.
Day 8: Manasarovar to Darchen (4,575m) – 1 to 2 hours drive
• Perform puja, meditation, and rituals at Manasarovar.
• Short drive to Darchen, the base of Mount Kailash.
• Preparation for the Kora (Parikrama/Trek).
Day 9: Kailash Parikrama – Darchen to Dirapuk (4,900m) – 12km trek (5 to 6 hours)
• Begin the Kailash Kora (circumambulation).
• Walk through Yam Dwar (Gateway of the Gods).
• Reach Dirapuk Monastery with a close view of Mount Kailash’s north face.
• Stay at a guesthouse in Dirapuk.
Day 10: Kailash Parikrama – Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk (4,790m) – 22km trek (10 to 12 hours)
• Most challenging day: Trek via Dolma La Pass (5,630m).
• Pass Gauri Kund (Sacred Lake).
• Descend to Zuthulpuk Monastery and rest.
Day 11: Kailash Parikrama – Zuthulpuk to Darchen (14km trek, 3 to 4 hours)
• Complete the Kora (Parikrama) and return to Darchen.
• Drive back to Saga.
Day 12: Saga to Kerung – 5 to 6 hours drive
• Scenic drive back towards the Nepal border.
Day 13: Kerung to Kathmandu – 7 to 8 hours drive
• Cross the border and drive back to Kathmandu.
• Rest and farewell dinner.
Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu
• Drop-off at the airport for the return journey.
